In this page I will show you about my learning understanding of the "Argumentative Text". _________________________________________________

A. Social Function

  What is Argumentative for?; An Argumentative text uses evidence and facts to prove whether or not a thesis is true, so two sides of an issues are presented in it. This text covers the most important arguments for and against.

Argumentative text has 2 types of Opinions, namely Pro-Contra and Contra. Pro-Contra to strengthen or support the main issue or problem being discussed. And Contra used to weaken or oppose the main issue in the text.

(Jadi Argumentative Text secara singkat berfungsi sebagai teks untuk menyatakan perdebatan itu benar atau tidak. Dan didalam argumentatif teks mempunya 2 jenis teks yaitu yg berisikan Pro-Kontra(Menguatkan) atau Kontra(Melemahkan)).

B. Text Structure 

  
  • Thesis: a statement supported by arguments to be put forward.
  • Arguments: prove or convey reasons and convince the reader.
  • Recomendation: alternatives/solutions. The author invites the reader to do something, or a statement about what should and should not happen.
C. Language Features and Language Component 
  1.  It contains the author's thought, ideas, views, and opinions
  2. It is accompanied by logical reasons, facts or events that occurred, as well as information form several sources such as data graphic pictures, and other things that can be accept by reason.
  3. It is presented using analysis and analogy 
  4. It is usually written as anon-fiction text and ends with a conclusion.
  5. Logical connectives are words or symbols which are used to form a complex sentence from two simple sentences by connecting them. Some logical connectives are if, only if, when, whenever, unless.
  6. Abstract nouns refer to ideas, feelings, emotions states, actions, concepts, experiences, and qualities that we cannot see, taste, touch, smell, or hear. For example: science, chemistry, geography, etc.
  7. A technical term is a word, phase, or acronym that professionals or experts use in their specific field to help save time when communicating with other knowledgeable professionals.
